While exploring “Who We Are,” in one of their transdisciplinary themes, our preschool students were inspired by the artwork of Charly Palmer and created self-portraits using paint and flowers. Their masterpieces provided an avenue for students to discover themselves and their place in the world, and an opportunity to express themselves as Communicators, an IB Learner Profile attribute.
Learning in the IB Primary Years Program is centered around six transdisciplinary themes focusing on concepts that transcend a number of disciplines. Whole-person student development is emphasized in accordance with the IB Learner Profile, a set of attributes that help our learners respect themselves, others, and the world around them. Teachers create learning opportunities for students to build understanding through inquiry, action, and reflection. They learn by doing.
